What is an honest prior?
Your prior is your genuine confidence that an impression will come true,
before you know the outcome. Be honest — if you're not sure, say so. Rangefinder uses
your honest priors to compute your overall hit rate and show you which channels or time
windows are worth your trust.
Why is the channel scoreboard locked?
The channel scoreboard needs enough resolved impressions per channel to be meaningful.
Below that the numbers would be statistical noise, and Rangefinder doesn't show noise. Honesty
gates unlock stats when you've logged enough resolved impressions in each channel.
Can I change or edit an impression after sealing it?
No. Once you seal an impression with your prior, it's locked. Impressions you can rewrite
after the fact aren't genuine. If one has become wrong about the event or the context
changed, mark it not applicable — those don't count against your hit rate.
How do I export my impressions?
Settings → "Export as CSV" creates a file on your device and opens the iOS share sheet.
You control exactly where it goes. Export is part of Rangefinder Pro and helps you keep
backups or migrate data.
Reminders aren't showing up.
Check iOS Settings → Notifications → Rangefinder is allowed. Reminders are scheduled for
when each impression's check-by date arrives.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Rangefinder
Pro, or the “Manage subscription” link inside the app's Settings.
How do I delete my data?
Settings → “Delete all impressions” inside the app, or just delete the app. Everything
is on your device; there's no server copy anywhere.
Does this app prove precognition?
No. Rangefinder scores your impressions against your own stated priors. If your hit rate
is high, that's a correlation worth noting — but it doesn't prove precognition is real,
and small samples mislead. Human judgment is unreliable; base decisions on Rangefinder's
numbers only if the sample size is large enough to trust.
