Latent

Terms of Use

Effective date: July 23, 2026

These terms govern your use of Latent, an iOS app from Quiet Optics LLC. By using the app you agree to them. They incorporate Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

What Latent is

Latent is a personal journaling and self-assessment tool: you record intentions with clear criteria, resolve them yourself, and the app computes statistics about your practices and calibration. Latent makes no judgments of its own, offers no medical or financial advice, and involves no wagering, prizes, or real-money outcomes of any kind. Your calibration and lift scores reflect only the entries you chose to log and how you chose to resolve them.

Latent Pro

Some features (the full scorecard, practice comparisons, CSV import/export, and future Pro features) require a Latent Pro purchase:

Prices are shown in the app before purchase. Refunds are handled by Apple under their standard policies — you can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your data

Your journal lives on your device (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for keeping your own export backups if you want them; deleting the app deletes your journal.

Acceptable use

Don't use Latent to violate any law, and don't attempt to circumvent purchase verification. Free-tier limits are part of the product.

No warranty

Latent is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. Calibration and lift metrics are informational — they are honest math about your own entries, not professional medical, financial, or health advice of any sort. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from use of the app.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected in the effective date above and noted in App Store release notes. Continued use after a change is acceptance.
